SOS:Calling All Stay-At-Home-Mom

In any given economy, there is a groups of people who has to stay alert and vigilant; the Stay-At-Home-Moms (SAHM).

Many moms are likely to be blindsided without a plan B… Everyone must have a plan B. It doesn’t matter how much income your spouse is earning now, if you don’t have at least 6 months savings to cover all your monthly living expenses in any given economy you might just find yourself homeless.

It’s unfortunate but bad things do happen to good people. Mothers mean well, we put all our focus on the home and children. We forget to take good care of ourselves and we neglect our pension & contribution to social security.

We bury our heads in the cloud and don’t face the reality of our lives. That reality is that mostly our husband is the main bread-winner. No one prays for bad things to ever happen to his job or health. Well, sometime these things do happen.

So today I’m sounding the alarm, please WAKE UP. We can avoid or at least reduce the impact of a surprise from happening.

.

Do you have a plan B?

If your husband loses his job, what will you do?

Do you have past work experience you can rely on and fall back on if the roles are reversed?

If you don’t, do you know what your God-given talents and gifts are? What are the things you are good at?

Most people have gifts and talents they think are just hobbies and no one will pay them for it. Think again! You can earn an income doing what you love. People will pay anyone for services they need.

Ask yourself, what service can I offer to people?

What do people need?

What problem can I solve for others?

As long as there are working moms, there will always be a need for good nannies, live in or live out. Any mom that is either working or SAHM knows that when you find a good babysitter, you better hang on to them.

Same goes with house cleaners and catering services for special events. All of these services I have used and will continue to use.

I always make sure to use the service of SAHM; they know how to make your dollar stretch a long way. They also provide valuable service because they are passionate about what they do.

Lately, I’ve been searching for a personal trainer, I don’t want your everyday personal trainer, I am looking for a SAHM, who is passionate about health and fitness, understands the struggles a woman goes through, can kick butt and also show empathy at the same time.

Below are lists of at home businesses you can start for next to nothing.

Most of the ideas I have listed above, you can fit around your family lives, you can do while the children are in school. You can even take your young children along.

Let us work smarter not harder. Working harder doesn’t mean more money.

I agree with everything you mentioned. At a ponit I was advised to stop my 401k plan but I could not understand why. My company matches up to 5%…what a deal!
When I checked my portfolio last month all I can do is 🙂 🙂
