Day 1 – Thankful For Unanswered Prayers

November is the month when we as Americans celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday.
Thanksgiving is a big celebration in America and I am starting Day 1 of Thankfulness
today. I hope you will join me for the next 30 days. Let us be thankful together. I look
forward to all your comments on why you are thankful.

Day 1: Thankful For Unanswered Prayers.

It’s only natural to be thankful for answered prayers. We all rejoice when our prayers are answered. It feels great when I can tick off another answered prayer request on my list.

There has been many times also that some of my prayers have gone unanswered and I often wondered what went wrong? With patience and time, the reason is revealed later. Many times I have thanked God for unanswered prayers. In time, He has revealed to me that some of my prayers are out of my selfish desires and they are dangerous to my life.

Hindsight is 20/20 and I am grateful to God for not answering some of my prayers. There were relationships that I thought were meant to last the test of time. Even though they were detrimental to my well-being, I wanted them to work. However, God had a better plan for me.

God, thank You for saving me from myself. Feel free to not always grant all my prayers because I know  “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LORD (Isaiah 55:8)

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. (Jer.29:11)

Question ~ How grateful are you for some of your prayers that were never answered?
