Day 6 – Thankful For My Neighbors

Today, I am thankful for my wonderful neighbors Steph and Buddy. We have lived at our current home for the past 5 years.

Our neighbors are my go to person whenever I need help. They made our transition to the neighborhood effortless. As a new mom and not knowing much, Steph recommended our children’s pediatrician and we are still with the same doctor.

They have been a blessing to our family and always looking out for us. Just a few weeks ago I had a bust pipe outside my house and a licking shower.

My husband was out-of-town so I informed them of my problem. Within 24 hours the pipe and licking shower was fixed. They connected me to the plumber and just like that it was taken care of.

Don’t you all wish you had great neighbors like them?  ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ (Mark 12:31)

Steph and Buddy, we are grateful that you are our neighbors and you have been gracious to us. We truly appreciate your family.

Do you have great neighbors?

  1. I am thankful for my neighbor, The Dickinson’s. Our children are friends and we sometimes double date for date nights. What I am grateful the most for is their understanding and positive attitude.

Buky your neighbors sound like really great people. That ties in with your post about Houston. Houstonians are really friendly bunch.

  2. Your neighbors are awesome. It certainly help having good ones. I am just settling in a new neighborhood and i havent gotten to know my neighbors yet. My previous neigbhor were angels in disguise and i am praying that my new neighbor will be great.

  3. Hey Buky, I’m so glad you acknowledge your great neighbors.  This is encouragement for all of us to get to know our neighbors especially during times when we seem fearful of letting people into our world, our personal space.  When we choose to follow God even to the point of where to live, He has already placed friends there for us, angels in disguise, to look out for us and help us.  Our neighbors can be the extension of God’s heart.

    • Greta, you said it correctly “neighbors can be the extension of God’s heart”.

This scripture is just perfect for this post. I didnt remember it when the post was written.

Do not forsake your friend and the friend of your father, and do not go to your brother’s house when disaster strikes you—better a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.(Pro 27:10)
