The Power Of Focus: One Thing At A Time

In the last 10 years I’ve learnt to focus on one thing at a time. It may sound simple but it was actually hard for me to stick to at first. I was used to running around like a headless chicken trying to do many things at the same time. Often, I didn’t achieve my goal, and if I did, I didn’t celebrate it. I was always on to NEXT!

Women are famous for their multi-tasking abilities. While that isn’t a bad thing, it can be less effective in achieving goals. When you harness the Power of Focusing and doing one thing at a time, it teaches you stickability. You will stop jumping all over the place, finish strong and fulfilled.

If you want to see result, then you’ve got to start focusing on one thing at a time. Our brain is more capable of thinking on a multi dimensional level and different layers. We do not utilize our brain to its fullest potential.

What Is Focusing?

Focusing is simply doing one thing at a time. Choose a subject matter; focus on it until you achieve the result you desire.

The Power of Focusing will enable you to become an expert on any subject matter that is close to your heart. It forces you to think outside of the box and it would prepare you for any challenges and obstacles that may be ahead.

If you apply focusing beforehand it will help you navigate issues you are likely to face. You will gain different perspective, new ideas and unleash your creative self. Focusing makes you more confident and bold at taking calculated risk

Set Out Your Goals – Watch Out For Distractions

Make a list of 5 goals you must achieve and pick one to focus on from today. When you make the decision to do this, be prepared for distractions and for your mind to stray from the subject at hand. Keep coming back to just the one focus for now. Remember you are trying to retrain yourself and it may take several attempts.

One reason so few of us achieve what we truly want is that we never direct our focus; we never concentrate our power. Most people dabble their way through life, never deciding to master anything in particular” ~ Anthony Robbins

Over the last 10 years because I chose to focus on one thing at a time I have seen major results that blows my mind. While I am not taking credit for them it was all God. I was able to pray on a new dimension because I had just one focus in mind. I was able to recognized the answer when it showed up.

Once you’ve decided, you’ll start to notice your focus in everything around you. Watch out when you attend church this week – even your pastor is in on your business. Maybe God has been reading your note, hey!

Turn on the TV; there they are discussing your focus too. The whole universe is in on it. Don’t be scared, just pay attention and assimilate all these information.

Its like once you make up your mind, heaven agrees with you. The answer you are after is closer than you think!

Focus on the subject that matter most to you today. If it matters to you then you will pay more attention to it. If you are struggling with focusing on the one thing then it doesn’t matter to you as much as you think.

Let your eyes look directly ahead And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. (Proverbs 4:25)

Give it a go and see for yourself, don’t just take my words for it. What have you got to lose? It’s free info that cost you nothing. All I ask is that you come back and share your experiences.

Is there a lesson you have learned on the Power of Focusing lately?

  1. This is very true.  When I am less focused is when I am more stressed out and don’t get everything on my to-do list done. Thanks for giving me a Ah-ha moment!

    • Sola, so true about the stress factor when we are less focused. I have to continuously practice what I preach because it’s so easy to get distracted.

  4. Thanks for the post, Buky.

This is just what we need as women, to be able to focus and not experience burn-out from multitasking that gets us everywhere but where we really want to be.

    • Faithdames, talk about burn-out and losing one’s mind. I have been there, too busy to even enjoy the blessing God gave us. We need more wisdom to take things one at a time. I know thru Christ we can do all things. Thanks for stopping by
