It’s Go Texan Day and the start of the RodeoHouston.
The Friday before the Parade is also known as “Go Texan Day,” where the entire population of Houston is encouraged to dress in Western attire, such as jeans, cowboy boots, and cowboy hats.
The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo also called RodeoHouston. Is the world’s largest live entertainment and livestock exhibition and is held right here in my hometown, Houston!
Go Texan Day not only encourages everyone to wear their western wear but helps preserves this great tradition to be proud of.
The event is 20 days long. The show features championship rodeo action, livestock competitions, concerts, a carnival, pig racing, barbecue and the Rodeo Uncorked! Shopping, sales and livestock auctions.
It’s a great family event for everyone, there is something for all to do and enjoy! Come hungry and taste the best barbecue ever, leave full and happy.
We join our fellow Houstonians in celebrating Go Texan Day. So proud to be a Houstonian.
God bless Texas, God bless the United States of America
