Imagine Mary

The roads of life take us through many paths; while some are smooth rides, others are bumpy and filled with potholes.

The individual going through a bumpy road tends to think they have been singled out for a rough ride.

We sometimes think that no one else knows how deep and painful we hurt. Going as far as thinking that we are the only ones ever to experience the pits of the valley we find ourselves.

Imagine Mary, the mother of our Lord, Jesus. A virgin betrothed to Joseph discovers the impossible, unheard of, never before happened to any other human being. Pregnant with a child, yet not having known any man.

Imagine going through something you have nothing to compare with—no point of reference whatsoever. Imagine having to keep this great secret to yourself. Who can I share this with? Who would keep my secret, secret? Yet, she put her trust in God for the unknown.

There is nothing you are facing today that is new under the sun. Someone has gone through it, and you can gather strength and encouragement from others that you too will not only survive but overcome it.

Your trials today will be the platform of authority from which God will use you to
speak and minister to others.

Prayer
I pray that God, Father of our Lord Jesus, will give you grace and strength in this season. The third Person of the Trinity will comfort and help you in your understanding and discernment.

    • Whenever situation becomes intimidating I remind myself “this too shall pass”. We are surrounded by a cloud of witnesses – those who lived before us and have faced far greater challenges than me. Mary, Abraham, Isaac, Joseph and Job etc. They have left us a spiritual legacy we can draw strength from
