Just Showing Up Is Not Enough

Just showing up is not enough. Be all there and reliable.

Just showing up is the norm. Just showing up is the least anyone would expect from us. Everyday people are showing up just because.

On the job:People are showing up for jobs they don’t like. In marriages; many couples are in loveless marriages and are emotionally unavailable.

At home: While parents may be present they are no involved in their children’s life.

In Churches: Yes we show up but are we plugged in? Are you serving and growing in your spiritual gifts? These are just few of the reasons why I believe that just showing up is not enough!

And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father. Colossians 3:17, NLT.

If you want to live a more meaningful life, not just existing and getting by. You have to do more than showing up – BE ALL THERE AND RELIABLE. Anyone can show up but when you are all there, ALL IN and reliable – You stand out! People take notice, you add value to everything you touch, our families and communities will thrive and flourish. When we are engaged, God is able to use us to meet the needs of those around us.

Show up. Be engaged. Give your best.

Showing up

One of my goals this year is committing to less so that I can give my best. Doing less but giving more of my time to my loves, passion and honoring my commitments.

Everything is permitted, but everything isn’t beneficial. Everything is permitted, but everything doesn’t build others up. 1 Corinthians 10:23, CEB.

Seeking God about everything helps. Really everything? Yeah! One thing that became glaringly obvious to me last year is: I am not as smart as I think I am. Duh! I am not capable of running my life smoothly. I need God in every area of my life, especially when I think “I got this!” Child, please!

For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself. Galatians 6:3, NASB.

Prayer: Dear God,  Help us to find our rightful place in Your body and our community. Help us to honor our commitments. May we become known as a people of honor, love and devotion.
