It’s Time To Come Out From Hiding.

It’s time to come out from among them and stop hiding behind things that keep us living in sin bondage and a life less than God’s best, stepping into the Light, Truth, Sonship, Purpose, and Destiny.

Dear Friends, Nobody is coming to rescue you. No one is coming to save you. Sorry to burst your bubble single ladies: Prince Charming is not coming on a white horse to rescue you. And to my married sisters: Two lost people cannot become whole and one just because they put a ring on it. And my Brother, you know what time it is: It is time for you to step into your rightful place and divine calling. The world is waiting, and eternity is waiting for you to be revealed.

Jeremiah 23:24 (NIV) “Can anyone hide in the secret places so that I cannot see him?” declares the Lord. “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” declares the Lord.

God is waiting for us to get our act together, by taking the first step, doing what we already know to do. Then favor, goodness, and mercy will follow and assist us as we step into who we were created to be.

Things We Hide Behind.

Career: Don’t we just love ourselves too much. What is one of the first question people ask: What do you do for a living? Yes? That is how much importance we have placed in our careers as if we are our titles. What happens after the job comes to an end?

Success: You are either winning or losing in life, right? Success is measured by what you own and how well you are doing in the income bracket. Let’s forget if we are in debt fighting for our dear life. That house of cards is going to come crashing down without God. Have you redefined success for yourself?

Talents: Have you discovered your calling yet? Hmmm… Too bad if you haven’t, because in the world – talent is everything. And those who have discovered theirs are the happening people, they’ve got it going on and life is great. And we all worship at the throne of their talents and only wished we have discovered ours. Be humble and thankful for your gifts and talents. Be careful: Don’t let pride go to your head. Are you using your talents for God?

Marriage: Oh yes this is the ultimate goal. Right? Everyone wants that perfect marriage which everyone else aspires to. The problem with this goal is even those who we think have that marriage don’t even know they have it because they are so aware of their flaws and know the true state of their marriage which may not be obvious to outsiders. Is your marriage Christ-centered?

Beauty: It’s true, beauty will open many doors if you’ve got it or can afford to buy it.  The downside of beauty is it cannot be sustained, the competition is fierce and like everything else, it is temporary. Charm is deceitful and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord will be praised. Proverbs 31:30. Are you deeply rooted in Christ?

Children: Both the haves and have-nots complain about them. We outdo each other on how special, beautiful and talented they are. FYI: mine has been preaching and speaking in tongues straight from the womb. Lol! Seriously, our children will eventually grow up, leave home and what then?

Family: How much pride do we put on our name and family heritage. For some of us, it’s a case of my name is Bond, James Bond. It’s a great blessing having a godly heritage, but it’s not for hiding behind. Do you have a personal relationship with God?

You are not the family you were born into. Your family is not the making of you, God is!”

Education: Yep! Go to school, get good grades and you will be set for life! That’s what we were taught and we continue to feed our children the same lies. All the qualifications in the world are not going to save us from what’s coming. Education is great, but is that what God created you for?

Possession: Let’s be honest who doesn’t want to live in a great neighborhood and have decent stuff for their children? If you answer no, I’m praying for you. Lol! Of course, we want something for all our hard work. Just don’t let your possessions possess you. Don’t store up treasures here on earth, where moths eat them and rust destroy them, and where thieves break in and steal. Matthew 6:19, NLT. Where is your treasure stored?

Ministry: For sure this can’t be a bad thing, serving God? Yep! Even doing the Lord’s work can easily become an idol we hide behind. All in the name of the Lord: It is possible to be serving man while pretending to serve God. Not everyone is called to the pulpit ministry and not every church is ordained by God. Are you serving God or man?

No ministry or vocation is greater than a personal relationship with God.

Our History: What’s your story? Everyone’s got one. I was born this way. My family is like this. I’m this way because of my upbringing and past experience. I was rejected, abandoned and unloved. We’ve all been dealt a bad hand at some time and while not trying to downplay your unfortunate and no doubt sad story: It’s time to stop hiding behind it.

Sin: If we refuse to confront our sins it becomes our prison and hiding place. In a matter of time, we end up in a vortex of lies and deceit. Convincing ourselves that’s our thorn in the flesh and we’ll stop trying. That’s not living, its hiding and dying slowly. Christ has set you free. Are you living free?

These are merely few of the things we hide behind. I hope you can identify which one pertains to you and ask God to show you the way out.

Is God against having a great marriage, career, family, and beautiful things? Absolutely not! Only if those things have you, have a hold and a grip on your life and has become your idol! Yes. God will not share you with anyone and anything, any longer.

Transparency: One of the things I love about blogging is it allows me to confront my flaws and weaknesses. There have been many times in the past that I’ve delayed posts which convicted me until I was willing to lay that area of my life down to God. Don’t ever think that Pastors, leaders, Teachers and the writer of this blog are perfect and without sins.

We can hide and run from people, but we cannot hide or outrun God.

Are You Out Yet?
Dear Friends, It’s time to come out. It’s time to fulfill your God-given purpose. It’s time to live freely and be YOU!

If you don’t come out from amongst them and the things in which you’ve put your trust in, they would eventually oust and fail you.

Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord.Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” 2 Corinthians 6:17 (NKJV)

God loves you way too much to watch you daily reaffirm your commitment to bondage.
