I got tired of spinning my mind yearly trying to reinvent and rediscover myself. How many versions of myself are there? I decided enough was enough. I called off the search and cling to the truth. I am complete and enough because Christ alone is sufficient for me.
Daily we are bombarded with information, data, and the latest gimmick, a constant reminder we are not good enough. No one can keep up, and there’s not enough time in one lifetime.
She realized that she is the mother, sister, and friend she had been searching for and simply became her true self. By loving, accepting, affirming herself through compassion, kindness, and by letting go of any judgments.
When we believe we are not good enough, we look to others to complete us. We search for our better half and soul mate in relationships. We hope to find solidarity in Sisterhood and Male bonding. We search for fulfillment by chasing significance in titles, education, religion, and fame. When all else fails, we blame everyone for not loving us enough, and for not doing right by us. We refuse to see how we’ve bought into a lie that we are not good enough, when in fact; everyone is on the same journey.
Who Lied To Us?
The lies we believed about ourselves have kept us caged longer than the lies told to us. What lies have you bought into about yourself? Adam, who said to you that you were naked? Eve, Did God say, ‘You must not eat of any tree in the garden?’ Elijah, what are you doing here, in fear of Jezebel?
We’ve all bought into lies that we are not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, successful enough, or happy enough.
Identity Crisis.
At the rate the world is changing – no one can keep up. The world indirectly demands that we keep up. If we are not secure in our identity in Christ, we’ll get caught up in the whirlwind of comparison, competing, ultimately despising one’s life, trying to fix what wasn’t broken in the first place, and becoming who we are not.
Stop searching for yourself in others. You are complete in Christ and enough! The solutions the world offer is fleeting and very costly. The answers we seek are in Christ alone, free, and permanent. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” Matthew 9:9, CEV.
Challenge The Lies.
Everything is not the truth. Challenge and debunk the lies. Write it out, put it against God’s word. You have the mind of Christ – use it. The Bible is our mirror; use it every day.
What If, they were wrong about you because you didn’t fit into their boxes? What if. They couldn’t see your greatness because that’s your responsibility. And what if you are a beautiful mess, rough around the edges, unique, and perfect in your imperfections?
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11, ESV.
Now You Can live fully. Now you can let go of the lies. Now you can love and take care of yourself! You can do better because you know the truth.
Cling to the Truth.
What God says about you is the only truth worth clinging to and has the power to transform your life. Deep inside – you know the truth. Embrace who you have always known you could be.
You are not damaged. You are not your past. You are loved. You are treasured. You are not an accident. You were well thought out by God. And He knows you through and through. Christ delights in you and daily makes intercession for you.
I need more of God in every area of my life. I need Jesus with every waking breath I take. I’m not enough to run my life, raise my kids, and maintain a balanced home life, marriage and serve others. On my own, I’ve failed many times clinging to worthless idols. But with Christ, I’m capable and able to fulfill God’s purpose for my life. In Christ, I’ve found unfailing love, identity, self-worth, security, peace, and contentment.
You are enough. Call off the search. Take off the mask. Drop the dead weight. Cling to the truth. Love yourself and enjoy your life.
Love it my Buky…..
