Who are you going to be today? That is a decision only you can make. You can be who others say you are, you can be like anyone you admire or you can simply be you.
As simple as that may sound, it wasn’t always easy for me to live out. We have friends, family, religion, traditions, and environmental factors to consider that can easily condition us into who we are not.
I have evolved quite a lot from being a daughter, sister, an independent woman, married and now a mother At every season of my life I’m evolving. At different stages of my life, I’ve learned that I can be whomever I decide to be. That I have a powerful voice and ultimately I must be true to myself.
You cannot live a successful life masquerading as someone else. There is no one else like you in this world. Own who you are!
Daily I am walking the path God sets for me. Growing, discovering myself, making difficult choices, questioning beliefs, changing old habits, kicking some long-held traditions to the curve but mostly loving who I am.
What I know today: Life gets better when you accept who you are. Choose you: Be You. Do You.
Be the kindest, nicest, happiest and the most caring and loving version of yourself.
Food For Thought: How you define yourself is your choice. How others define you is theirs. It’s up to you to decide which definition you prefer. – Evy Poumpouras
Whoever you decide to become, be happy and love who you see in the mirror.
Dear friends, remember, you are a child of God, dearly loved, accepted and redeemed.
If we are honest most of our prayers are self-seeking and self-serving. It’s in our nature to want more. The flesh will never be satisfied; the more it gets, the more it demands.
For you, what does having more look like? Is it a bigger house, a new car or a high-income job? Maybe you are single and believing God for a spouse or married waiting to conceive? We are all seeking God for one thing.
Having more is never satisfying or enough. The more you have the more you desire. It takes a lot more to maintain more.
Be careful what you pray for. You may end up getting it only to discover it wasn’t worth it after all. Ask God to grant you His heart desires.
Have you counted the cost of seeking more? Can God trust you with His blessings?
Can God trust you with problems? Oftentimes blessings are disguised as problems. When life kicks you to the curb, will you give up and accept defeat or would you trust God by praying and waiting on Him? If you falter in a time of trouble, how small is your strength! Proverbs 24:10, NIV.
Can God trust you with Leadership? Many want to lead but very few are willing to serve. Leadership requires commitment and dedication. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you. James 4:10, ESV.
If God looks into your heart what will He found there?
We can fool other people but God looks at the heart and nothing is hidden from Him. Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the springs of life. Proverbs 4:23, ESV.
Can God trust you with a family of your own? Can God trust you with the marriage and children you’re praying for? Will you honor your vows to be faithful forsaking all others? Do you have a vision and plan for how to raise your children in the way of the Lord? For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the Lord, to do justice and judgment; that the Lord may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him. Genesis 13:22, KJV.
Can God trust you to keep your promises? Will you honor your promise to God, yourself, family, friends and on your job even when the circumstance is different? Are you a person of honor and integrity? You shall be careful to do what has passed your lips, for you have voluntarily vowed to the Lord your God what you have promised with your mouth. Deuteronomy 23:23, ESV.
Have you been faithful in the little? Having little is not an excuse for not helping others. Everyone can help someone because everyone has something to offer. And He said, “Truly, I tell you, this poor widow has put in more than all of them. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.” Luke 21:3-4, ESV.
Can God trust you with more money? Are you a good steward? Have you been faithful in managing your finances and paying off your debt? Are you faithful supporting God’s kingdom and helping the least among us? “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matthew 19-20, ESV.
Can God trust you with His glory? By using every opportunity you get to share your testimonies and point others to Christ giving all glory to God alone. “I am the LORD; that is my name! I will not give my glory to anyone else, nor share my praise with carved idols. Isaiah 42:8, NLT.
Can God trust you to help others? Every blessing you get from God is not just for yourself. Too many of us are good at praying for others but would not lift a finger to offer real solution or help. When I was hungry did you feed me? “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ Matthew 25:40, NASB.
Food For Thought: And if you are untrustworthy about worldly wealth, who will trust you with the true riches of heaven? (Luke 16:11 NLT)
Do you have a vision and a plan for yourself? Why do you want more, and more of what? More of nothing is NOTHING! Be specific. Make it plain. Write it down. Pray about it and commit it to the Lord.
What I Know Today: At the end of my life I hope I can say I loved more than I was loved, I gave more than I received, I forgave more than I was forgiven, and I leave this world a tad better than I found it.
As long as the earth remains, your God-given gift will forever be in demand. There will always be opportunities to exercise your gift. You may lose your job, but you will never lose your gift.
Recognize, appreciate and value your God-given gift. Whatever you have in your hand is what God will bless. Stop comparing your gift to others. Little or small, ask God to bless it. Your gift will make room for you. A man’s gift makes room for him and brings him before great men. Proverbs 18:16, AKJV.
Do not neglect or despise your gift. When you focus on developing your gift, it will make room for you. You already have a gift waiting to be discovered and developed. Your gift may appear insignificant to you, yet, it’s the very thing God will use to bless you and others.
Your gift looks insignificant because it is not connected to the vision God has for your life. And because you’ve not done anything to earn or deserve it.
Discovering your gift enables you to step into leadership, overcome your fear and live a truly fulfilling life. Only a few would seize their moment when it’s presented to them on a gold platter due to fear of feeling unqualified.
For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands. 2 Timothy 1:6, ESV.
This fear once plagued me, almost crippled me and I still have to fend it off at times.
Your gift and talent qualify you for your purpose, not your education. No amount of education, drive to succeed, affirmation, and willpower is able to overcome a lack of knowing your purpose and gift.
When others see opportunity and potential, one sees all the reasons why it won’t work due to fear. The solution for overcoming feeling unqualified is to know God’s will for your life and depend on Him.
It’s frustrating and unfulfilling to continue to watch others live out their dreams. It’s depressing to allow this fear to haunt you for the rest of your life. Surround yourself with people who have discovered their purpose and gift, and are pursuing their God-given vision.
Years ago I signed up for Toast Masters. I almost didn’t show up on the first day, but I knew I had to for myself. I was pleasantly surprised how welcoming and friendly everyone was. After all, we were all there to overcome our fear together and make new friends on the same life journey.
Prayerfully Step Out.
God qualifies the called, not by man’s valuation or qualifications. The next time an opportunity presents itself, prayerfully step out. Stop thinking about all the reasons why you can’t do it, rather focus on all the lessons you would learn and who you could become.
Your gift and talent are opportunities to develop your strength, serve others and fulfill your purpose.
What I know Today: As long as the earth remains, your God-given gift will forever be in demand. There will always be opportunities to exercise your gift. You may lose your job, but you will never lose your gift.
You are somebody’s hero: do it for them. You are someone’s voice: speak up. Someone’s life depends on you: fight for them.
When someone attacks you for no reason. Forgive them for Christ’s sake.
When you cannot find it in your heart to forgive or let go. Do it for Christ’s sake. When the desire to avenge is greater than forgiveness. Do it for Christ alone.
When you feel like giving others their just deserve, remember the unmerited grace you didn’t deserve. For Christ’s sake extend grace to others.
Dear God, When I’m frustrated and enraged at the injustice and double standards in the world. May I remember the cross, your unconditional love, and compassion for the lost. May I choose to follow your example for Christ’s sake.
For it has been granted to you that for the sake of Christ you should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake. Philippians 1:29, ESV.
Christ has fought for us and now we must love, endure and suffer for Christ’s sake.
The word Sake means: for the purpose of; in the interest of; in order to achieve or preserve.
No one has greater love than this: that someone lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13, LEB
We are called to die to live not to live to die. We are here to fight and die for Christ’s sake.
What Needs To Die? The flesh! Our flesh needs to die daily. My rights, feelings, earthly desires, comforts and entitlements.
Our needs and wants and desires are not necessarily God’s will. Set your mind and affections on Christ alone. Love what God loves and hate what He hates.
In a war, soldiers don’t go to battle for their own agenda. They fight for a common purpose, to achieve and to uphold.
Who Are You Going To Die For?
Death comes to all eventually and no one gets out alive. We’re all going to die one day. Who are you going to die for?
Some things are just not up for discussion. Just leg it! When Potiphar’s wife tried to lure Joseph into an adulterous relationship. The bible stated that “Joseph fled”. He didn’t hang about trying to talk sense into an immoral woman. Joseph didn’t try to preach to her, he fled. There may be people places and things in your life you need to flee from. Don’t try to rationalize it. Run for your dear life and don’t look back!
Flee from those who choose to remind you of your past and how much they’ve done for you. Your life is not a bargaining chip. Stop negotiating the terms of your freedom, you’ve been held hostage long enough. Your life is not up for bargaining.
Flee from sin. Flee from temptation: So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. 2 Timothy 2:22, ESV.
Flee from bad associations. Depart from me, you evildoers, that I may keep the commandments of my God. Psalm 119:115, EVS.
Flee from the love of money.
For the love of money is the root of all evils. Some people in reaching for it have strayed from the faith and stabbed themselves with many pains. 1 Timothy 6:11, NET.
Flee from False Prophet.
Beware of false prophets. They come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. Matthew 7:15, ESV.
Flee from a decisive person.
If people are causing divisions among you, give a first and second warning. After that, have nothing more to do with them. Titus 3:10, NLT.
Flee from sexual immorality. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body. 1 Corinthians 6:18, ESV.
Flee from idol worship. “Those who cling to worthless idols turn away from God’s love for them. Jonah 2:8, NIV.
Flee from lukewarm relationships. One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24, NIV.
Flee from ungodly relationships. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14, ESV.
Remember Samson: He couldn’t help himself despite how many times Delilah betrayed him. He kept giving her another chance until it led to his downfall and ultimate death. How many chances are too many when it compromises your faith and oppose the word of God?
So it came to pass when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, lest you be destroyed.” Genesis: 19:17, NKJV.
Remember Lot’s wife: She looked back and became a pillar of salt. Like many of us, we can’t help but look back. Keeping track of people who belong in our past. Such as ex-lovers who are now married. Revisiting old joints known for violent and criminal activities. Flee!
Flee from your comforts, negative past, the familiar and back in the day people who refuse to change. You are a new person, embrace your new identity.
Intentionally seek out people who are going on the same path as you. Haven’t we come a long way? To give up now just doesn’t make sense. The best is yet to come.
How easily we can see the fault and error in others while we reason and make justifications for ourselves. Wrong is wrong! There are no variations or shades of the truth. The truth is the truth!
If you are ever in doubt of your actions or deeds ask yourself if they are aligned with Philippians 4:8, NCV: Brothers and sisters, think about the things that are good and worthy of praise. Think about the things that are true and honorable and right and pure and beautiful and respected.
Protect your peace! Stay away from negative people. They will only deplete all the goodness in your life.
Happiness is contagious. Surround yourself with positive people, keep negative people at a distance.
Keep your peace when others try to bring you down. It’s not about you, it’s about them. You are responsible for the energy you put out and what you allow into your space.
Choose peace, it feels so much better than being right. Taking the high road is the path to inner peace. Taking the high road certainly doesn’t mean I’m weak or stupid. It simply means I’d rather have peace and joy than prove a point.
Negative, lukewarm & unsupportive friends are nothing but a drain on your energy. Keep them at bay & love them from a distance. Fill your life with more positive than negative friends.
Kick out the troublemakers and things will quiet down; you need a break from bickering and griping!(Proverbs 22:10 MSG)
You are not made of wood; you are a living being with feelings. Guard your heart; don’t dwell on negative thoughts, which will only affect your outlook on life.
We all have people in our lives that are negative. They are good people, but they are negative by default. Reduce your exposure to them lest they drain the life out of you. Inner peace gives you the strength to dream, believe, hope and fight another day.
What I Know Today: Time spent with great people nourishes the soul and helps bring out your greatness. Go where you are wanted, inspired and loved.
These are the best days of your life. Do not despise your current season.
Life is altogether beautiful.
Every day is a new normal, embrace it. You cannot relive yesterday, it’s gone. Today is a new day, live it well. Life is God’s test which cannot be passed without Him. With Christ, He makes all things beautiful and possible. Don’t try to figure it all out. Take each day as it comes.
Your life may not have turned out as you wished with all the best effort and intention. Do not despise where you are today. Do not talk down to yourself. Things won’t always be this way, but you must continue to rise up every day, trusting that each day carries a lesson and a reward for perseverance.
No season lasts forever. You are due for a change. Look inwards and focus on the many lessons you’ve learned. Thank God for His amazing grace and mercy. Make gratitude the default state of your heart.
God placed you in this space for a reason. Instead of resentment, surrender. There is a lot you don’t know, be still and learn. Quit fighting and surrender to Him. You don’t get it, it doesn’t make sense and that is why He’s God! His ways are not yours and it doesn’t make sense, so get with the program.
Your ability to discern the seasons of your life will lead to fulfilling your destiny.
I DO SOLEMNLY RESOLVE to embrace my current season of life and will maximize my time in it. I will resist the urge to hurry through or circumvent any portion of my journey but will live with a spirit of contentment.” ― Priscilla Shirer
You could be in the best season of your life and not enjoy it because you have your eyes elsewhere. Be content and enjoy the blessings of God where you are now.
Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11, NLT.
In every season there is beauty, pain, and lessons. Enjoy the beauty before it fades. Turn every pain into prayers.Apply the lessons learned and prevent a recurrence.
Your life is what you make of it. Someone somewhere with fewer privileges and opportunities than what you have is living their best life.
What I know today is that: Today is the best day of my life since tomorrow is not promised.
My prayer for you today is that The Lord will do for you things that money cannot buy and will open doors that no man can shut in your life in Jesus name. Amen!
Dear Mom in waiting, I’ve put these Bible verses together with you in mind. I pray it will minister truth and comfort to you and may the Lord strengthen you.
I know every woman’s journey, story, and medical issues are different. I won’t pretend to understand what you are going through, but know that God does.
Personally, I hate waiting and I would be lying if I tell you that I enjoyed my waiting season; I didn’t. It taught me patient, humility and total dependence on God. It made me realized how much I needed God and without Him, I won’t make it.
Now that I am a mother of 3, I am thankful for all the lessons learned and my children are worth the wait.
1. Depend on the Lord; trust him, and he will take care of you. Psalm 37:3, NCV.
2. Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him. Psalm 37:7, NCV.
3. Isaac’s wife could not have children, so Isaac prayed to the Lord for her. The Lord heard Isaac’s prayer, and Rebekah became pregnant. Genesis 25:21, NCV.
4. He gives children to the woman who has none and makes her a happy mother. Psalms 113:9, NCV.
5. I wait for the Lord to help me, and I trust his word. Psalm 130:5, NCV.
6. Give your worries to the Lord, and he will take care of you. He will never let good people down. Psalm 55:22, NCV.
7. You will be blessed more than any other people. Every husband and wife will have children, and all your cattle will have calves. Deuteronomy 7:14, NCV.
8. So Hannah became pregnant, and in time she gave birth to a son. She named him Samuel, saying, “His name is Samuel because I asked the Lord for him.” 1 Samuel 1:20, NCV.
9. The Lord was kind to Hannah, so she became the mother of three sons and two daughters. And the boy Samuel grew up serving the Lord. 1 Samuel 2:21, NCV.
10. Then God remembered Rachel and answered her prayer, making it possible for her to have children. Genesis 30:22, NCV.
11. By faith even Sarah received the ability to have a child, though she herself was barren and past the age for having children because she believed that the one who promised was faithful. Hebrews 11:11, CEB.
12. Children are a gift from the LORD; they are a reward from him. Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands. How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates. – Psalm 127:3-5, NLT.
13. I will bless you and give you many children; I will keep my part of the covenant that I made with you. Leviticus 26:9, GNT.
14. And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” Genesis 1:28, ESV.
15. Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Romans 4:18, NIV.
16. “There shall be no one miscarrying or barren in your land; I will fulfill the number of your days. Exodus 23:26, NASB.
17. For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11, NIV.
18. Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table. Psalm 128:3, ESV.
19. Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10, NLT.
20. Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6, ESV.
To the Mom in waiting – May the LORD visit you today. May the LORD bless you and fulfill your heart desires. May you bear fruit in every area of life.
Letting go is hard, and painful, but the pain will not kill you. For a season it may seem like you won’t ever recover, with time you will heal. As you mourn the loss, forgive and let it go. Don’t hate yourself for decisions you made which contributed to where you are today. Don’t judge yourself too harshly; you made the right decision based on the information and wisdom you had at the time.
Don’t hate others whom you invited into your life whose journey has come to an end. Be thankful for the lessons When a relationship comes to an end: don’t speak ill of them. Just pray for them. Wish them well and send them off with your blessings. Thank God for new doors. A time to weep and a time to laugh; A time to mourn and a time to dance. (Ecclesiastes 3:4, NASB)
As you transition forward, remember the lessons learned and don’t forget the good times. You are wiser and stronger now, leap into the future. Let it go: dwelling on past pain creates self-doubt, which only delays your future happiness. After the pain comes laughter. After the rain comes sunshine. Tomorrow the sun will rise, and you will smile again. You will find your rhythm and dance like never before.
Today, let go of all bitterness. Holding on to bitterness is holding you back. Forgive yourself and everybody else. Do it right now! Now is all that is guaranteed not tomorrow
If you have nothing kind and encouraging to say, keep it to yourself. Can we all agree the world has enough mean-spirited people as it is? Be the one who brings a ray of sunshine and hopes to those around you.
When the life you once had is over, you have the opportunity to embrace the new with optimism or wallow in self-pity and regrets over the past. Don’t get stuck; you can rise again. God can make a new life out of the ruins of your old life.
What I know Today: Endings are painful, but nothing leaves your life. They are life lessons learned for tomorrow. Everything happens for a reason, and whatever leaves your life is not wasted.
There comes a time, when you say “enough is enough.” I pray today is that day to put an end to your pain. Forgive and let It GO!
The truth is we are all a mess! None is perfect and without sin. So, moving forward, let’s stop acting like we are since we are not. None is righteous, no, not one. Romans 3:10, ESV.
If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth. 1 John 1:8, NLT.
There is no perfect relationship. There is no perfect marriage. There is no perfect family. There is no perfect life. The world is full of broken people with wounded hearts and broken dreams trying to navigate life’s disappointment one at a time.
If life is a beautiful mess no wonder we are all messed up! Since we are imperfect beings, our love is not perfect, and at best conditional.
Everyone is in need of God’s grace, mercy, and love not judgment and unforgiveness. May the love of God unite us above our differences.
WHAT I KNOW TODAY:No one can possess what belongs to you. What is yours is yours! Don’t steal, kill or destroy for what is coming your way. Wait for it.
The Lord is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him. Lamentations 3:25, NKJV.
There are countless of great things coming your way if only you would slow down and not fight the process of life. No matter how hard you fight it, you would eventually learn to wait for things to take their natural order.
There are many mistakes you cannot afford to make, they are too costly and they will stunt and frustrate your dreams. Waiting prepares and builds character. You have everything you’ll need for the journey ahead and you are exactly where you need to be right now. And I know it doesn’t look like it today but fast forward into your future: it’s all there. Don’t allow rookie mistakes and regrets to tarnish your future.Wait for it.
Love is the secret to winning any battle in this life. Whoever wins the battle of love, wins the battle of life.
One day someone will show up in your life unexpectedly and will love you for who you are, asking no questions and making no demands only to offer you, genuine love. Where in the past others may have taken you for granted, you will reap where you have not sown and loved unconditionally.
There are people like these everywhere, first, you must position your heart to receive them. Have faith and believe in the goodness of God.
May the love, kindness, and favor of God track you down, overwhelms and win you over! Amen!
Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8, ESV.
Over the years I’ve learned many lessons from my past failed goals. A goal is only effective when it affects every area of my life.
We tend to separate and compartmentalized our life. Wrong! You only have one life. Every area of your life affects each other, your community and the world at large.
This year I have only one goal and that is:To grow in God and press forward to His high calling for my life.
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14, ESV.
This is a BIG goal. I can’t imagine anything else worth living and dying for. This one goal affects my life, marriage, children, community, purpose, and everything.
Growing in God is growing in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Knowing His voice and applying His Word. To grow in love, righteousness, holiness and walk in the truth. To look for Christ in everything I do, in everyone I meet and in every day I’m alive. He’s the main focus for everything, otherwise, nothing is worth doing.
Everything God does has a purpose. We must intentionally seek, ask and knock, and in return, He will give us His heart, open our eyes if we seek Him in truth.
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. 1 John 5:14-15, ESV.
This is the year I will grow in God, pressing forward to His high calling for my life. Lord, this is my desire. Be it unto me. Amen!
Dear Friends, I am guarding my heart, eyes, ears, mouth, and relationships: they are gateways to my life and destiny. Words spoken or heard, thoughts conceived, and deeds seen make me complicit and put me in a bind.
I’m avoiding any appearances of evil before it drags me to the point of no return. If I do not reply your calls or text and don’t gather with you. Know that it’s not about you, it’s me.
I’m saving my souland I’m working on me. I wish us all the best as we grow in life’s journey!
Keep your heart with all diligence for out of it are the issues of life. Proverbs 4:23, AKJV.
Surely you know that all the food that enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then goes out of the body. But what people say with their mouths comes from the way they think; these are the things that make people unclean. Out of the mind come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual sins, stealing, lying, and speaking evil of others. Matthew 15:17-19, NCV.
When you become the person you want to attract, you will know and attract the person you want to be with.
I hear this all the time: a good man or woman is hard to find. I disagree! They are everywhere and here is why: For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving.1 Timothy 4:4.
And before you think it’s okay for her, she’s been married for 12 years and has 3 children, and life has dealt her a good hand and she doesn’t get it. Only if you knew the paths I’ve walked, they were not all paved with roses, more like thorns. I’ve been there, done that and have my share of sad stories too.
You Attract What You Believe. Despite all the bad news in the media and discouraging statistics regarding divorce. This much I can attest to after living on 3 continents: the world is still full of great people. But you will not find great people on your paths if you believe the world is full of wicked, evil and mean people. All you will find are the reflection of your own heart.
Many times I hear women say “men are dogs”, men are losers and they are all the same. Are you kidding me! No wonder all they meet are the confirmation of their hearts.
I also hear men say: “there are no good women out there”, “a good woman is hard to find”, “and all the good ones are already taken”. Seriously! Guess what: you attract what you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth.
All human beings are not the same. There are good and bad of every kind. Don’t allow your past experience to cloud your vision. When you become the love you desire, you will attract the love you deserve.
Could it be the reason you are not attracting the one is that you are not the one or you don’t know what you want? Light attracts light and deep calls unto deep! Many times we want something we are not willing to be ourselves. Then you are unable to identify and appreciate them when they show up.
Change Start With You. In order to attract the one, you will need to know what the one look, feel and think like. Once you know who you are, you can identify the one. No longer will you invest your time in dead and unequally yoked relationships.
I’m not sure had my husband met me years before we did, I may not have recognized that He was the one. I was still in the process of becoming. We are no good to anyone if we don’t know who we are. The process of discovery is ongoing and continuous through different stages in life.
Don’t settle for someone you can shack up with.Marry someone you can’t live without.
Due to our past relationships and life experiences, we’ve become untrusting, cynical, fearful, guarded and confused. Yet, with time comes clarity, wisdom, then courage. We can rediscover who we are and what we want, then realistically we can give birth to us: something beautiful, genuine, whole and real.
Marriage is the union of two broken people being made whole through the love of Christ.
There are 7 billion people in the world and there is more than one person out there for you. Make the necessary adjustment in your heart and make room for love. You are the one in your own way and the only person who can make the change.
Work On You. The most important job you will ever have is working on yourself. Pay attention to your life. Live in the moment. Change as your life evolves. Knowing and working on yourself continuously is an obligation you owe to yourself.
Until you discover the real you: who is loving and worthy of love, kind, generous, considerate, forgiving, always see the good in others and does not keep scores, you will keep attracting the opposite.
When you become the person you want to attract, you will know and attract the person you want to be with.
Don’t go on another date. Don’t break any more hearts, the answer you seek after is not in another person, it’s in you.
We are no good to anyone until we know who we are. We cannot love someone else until we learn to love ourselves first.
The only happy marriage you know is yours. Never compare your marriage to others, because you don’t have all the facts.
I’ve always told my married friends: My marriage is the only happy marriage I know. I never compare my marriage to others because I don’t have all the facts. And I stand by that statement.
I know that may come across as arrogance and annoying. But hold on, lets reason together. No one really knows what goes on in other people’s life and marriage. We only know the part they choose to reveal. Sometimes, even they don’t know the entire truth except for God.
Don’t be fooled by the “so-called” perfect couple. There are no perfect marriages, only two great actors. Marriage is work!
Marriage is work! Marriage is work because men are from Mars, women are from Venus and we live in a fallen world. Marriage is like a relationship with God, it’s constantly evolving and has no room for lukewarm.
The longer you’re married the more flaws you will notice in your spouse. It’s an opportunity to pray for them, and not to condemn. Your marriage is whatever you make of it.
Marriage is a process! Marriage is the union of two broken people being made whole through the love of Christ. The process of two becoming ONE is an obstacle course which only the wise will survive. A happy marriage just doesn’t happen overnight, it takes time, prayer, patience, compromise and a lot of dying to self.
Marriage is teamwork. A great marriage is the meeting of spirit, soul, and body knitted together in mutual love and respect. Marriage is not the problem, people are. Two people coming together insisting on having their way is a recipe for disaster. Let’s work together, serving each other in love, honor, and a whole lot of forgivenessis how we’re going to make it.
Marriage is for lovers. Marriage is the school of love. Where else is your love walk tested daily to perfection. Marriage is an invitation to love and lay your life down for each other. As we continue to love, forgive think and believe the best of one another, together we are building intimacy and trust.
Marriage is not a game. Don’t ignore issues, they won’t disappear, only get worse if you do. Whatever you do, don’t compare your spouse in any way to anyone, not even your parent! You will be amazed the length some couples would go, presenting a false image instead of working on their issues.
Regardless of the state of your marriage today, be hopeful, you have so much to work with to make it great and strong. Every marriage will face some challenges. You are not alone. Some of us are just better at not washing our dirty linen in public.
So one more time: The only happy marriage you know is yours! CAPISCE?
”Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”Ephesians 4:2, NLT.
Prayer Dear God, Help us to live and grow together in love, wisdom and with understanding in our marriages. Always ready to forgive, covering one another with kindness, compassion, and mercy. Help us to imitate you as we follow the example of Jesus Christ and not that of this world in Jesus name. Amen!
