Love Elevates. Hatred and Unforgiveness Destroy.

Love elevates the spirit. Hatred and unforgiveness destroy the body and soul.

Jesus perfectly demonstrated for us how to love those who hate us. Despite knowing fully well the role, Judas Iscariot would play in His final hours. Jesus did not alienate Judas; instead, He prayed for him. When God reveals your enemy, you have the advantage, and they can no longer have power over you. You must forgive, love, and pray for them just as Jesus did.

But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you. Matthew 5:44.

Love elevates the spirit. Hatred and unforgiveness destroy the body and soul.

Sounds easy, right? Not at all. I’m still learning to do this myself. Now and again, a thought from the past brings up feelings I thought were long buried. Oh, well once again, renew my stand in Christ by putting it under the blood, forgiving and letting go. No time to entertain condemnation or guilt, take your stand! Let the enemy know you mean business. Also, remember you are not all the crazy thoughts in your head.

Never wish them pain. That’s not who you are. If they caused you pain,
they must have pain inside. Wish them healing. That’s what they need.”
~ Najwa Zebian

Those who hate you have issues of their own. By hating you, they avoid working on themselves. It’s not personal, ignore them, and they will soon find the next victim. Refuse to become like them.

Don’t become a prisoner of your past. Leave the anger, hatred, and bitterness behind. Forgive, go in peace and enjoy your beautiful life.

Everything Will Work Out In The End.

Everything will work out in the end. For now, hold your peace, find the strength to keep believing and the courage to keep moving forward. You have the grace to get through today!

In life, there will be good days and bad days. Some of your good days will be better than others. Make no mistake: Everyone will weather the storms of life, no exception! Everyone at some point will go through hard times. No exception.

A life without problems, obstacles, challenges, enemies, uncertainty, and doubts simply do not exist. But we serve a God who is above time, human circumstances and understanding and through Him, all things are possible when we believe.

Know therefore today, and lay it to your heart, that the LORD is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; there is no other. Deuteronomy 4:39, ESV.

Whatever valley or wilderness you found yourself today, either by design or default, embrace and grow through it. Any attempt to resist would only hurt you the more.

No matter what life throws at you – chose to be at peace regardless. Take care of your thoughts and mind. Your peace, joy, and wholeness do not depend on your circumstances. Love yourself like never before.

Change does not happen in the Promised Land or the Palace. Transformation happens on the road to Damascus, in the fiery furnace, in the pit, prison, and in the wilderness. You are being transformed even on your worst day God is at work in you.

Tough seasons have driven me to seek solace in solitude and embrace vulnerability, humility, powerlessness, and surrender. Through crises, I’ve learned to have faith in God and be still.  I’ve learned to be ok with not being ok and take one day at a time. Who knew that crises have many hidden blessings.

Whatever you might be going through, sometimes things may get worse before they get better. Probably not what you want to hear.

Instead of worrying, pray.
Instead of resisting, surrender.
Instead of being depressed, be still.
Instead of giving up, look up to Heaven.
Instead of crying, meditate on God’s word.
Instead of entertaining doubt, worship God
Instead of trusting in man, have faith in God.
Instead of striving for more, be thankful for what you have.
Instead of talking about your problems, count your blessings.

Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholds him with his hand. Psalm 37:24

What I know today: As long as I do my part, I can always depend on God to do his. He never fails.

Whatsoever your heart desires. Be bold enough to ask God. Be consistent in prayer. Be patient in waiting and believe it’ is done!

I am thankful for tough seasons, difficult people, disappointments, and uncertainties in life. They have taught me how to cling to God, love myself, forgive quickly, judge no one, be courageous, have compassion, and live with curiosity and contentment.

Even if your worst fear comes true, continue to fix your eyes on Jesus, the Prince of peace and the Lord over the storm. Your present trouble is not unto death, but for the glory of God. Your life is not unraveling; God is perfecting you.

In the meantime, do hard things, be still, face the hurt, meditate on the word, cry out to God, tend to your soul, and have a pleasant attitude. That is how to live in and out of season consistently and win the battle.

Prayer: In waiting, may you be transformed, renewed, grow in wisdom and peace, discover mysteries through courage, truth, hope, and faith in Jesus Christ.

The Best Is Yet To Come.

Always remember that your present situation is not your final destination. The best is yet to come. – Anonymous.

Hold on, blessings, favor, and unexpected miracles are coming your way.

God is taking you beyond your qualification, talent, gift, work, and family background. You will exceed human limitations and transcend your race and gender. There is no stopping what God is about to do in your life. AMEN!!!!!!

The least of you will become a thousand, the smallest a mighty nation. I am the Lord; in its time, I will do this swiftly.” Isaiah 60:22 NIV.

Try new things. Go where you’ve never been before when the opportunity presents itself. You don’t grow when you’re comfortable. Be Courageous and Bold, take your place in the arena of life and GO For IT.

I am ready to stretch and grow, learn and explore, give and receive, create and build, let go and surrender, always watchful, discerning the season and living with contentment.

Happy New Month! God’s promises are always ahead, never behind. The best is yet to come.

Summer Blessings.

Summer is here!

I’m thankful for lazy mornings, hugs and kisses, crepes with ice cream, peaches, and a house full of exuberant children.

Can you tell I love summer? Yes, I do! I love spending each day with my children — no early rise for summer camp here. Lazy mornings, crepes with ice cream are the order of the day.

Since I’m not brave enough to homeschool my kids, summertime is the closest time to pretend.

A Time For New Things.
It’s a time to learn new things, play and laugh a lot. We make new friends and visit with old friends. We kick out old habits that no longer serve us and replace with new ones.

A Time Of Grace.
A house full of children is not without its challenges. We are learning to communicate better, renegotiate our needs, and give an abundance of grace and space as needed.

A Time To Bond.
A downtime to make sweet memories, explore new hobbies, fascinating discoveries, reconnects, and bond as a family.

A Time To Grow.
A time to dwell richly in God’s word and draw closer to Him. To rest, dream and frame our world, and cast the vision for the rest of the year.

A Time For Gratitude.
A time of gratitude for each other, a community, health, plenty to eat, drink, and share with others. Focus on all that is good and count our blessings.

Our lives are not perfect. The truth is, no one is. We have reason to complain and gripe about the unfairness of life. And what good will it achieve? We pray about the darkness of life while still bearing light and blessings with all on the journey.

No season lasts forever. Love the season you’re in.

I hope your summer is off to a great start and may you make sweet memories and fascinating discoveries with your loved ones.

Attitude Matters

Doing life with my children keeps me grounded, teaches me, blesses me, challenges me, tests, and convicts me. I’m compelled to grow, have new perspectives, and positive attitudes.

Yesterday was the last day of school for my kiddos. They will be home for three months. Yikes! I’m a mom to a 7th, 5th and 3rd grader. Guys, they are growing way too fast!

I chatted with one of the moms while waiting to pick up my boys after school. I told her that I was excited and looking forward to summer. She asked, “Where are you doing for summer?” I replied nothing yet. She smiled and said, “You are so positive, I like that.”

A few hours later at the park, celebrating the end of the year school year. I got talking with another mom. Summer plans came up again, and of course, I told her how exciting this summer would be. Once again, I’m asked,” what are your plans?” I replied, not sure yet, but we are going to have fun. The mom replied, “I like your attitude.”

“You can often change your circumstances by changing your attitude” — Eleanor Roosevelt

I’m all for making plans. I’m all for enjoying every little moment too. Some situations are beyond our control. And in the absence of a strategy, vision, to-do list, and goals, have a positive attitude. Don’t compare your life with other people’s lives but look ahead with excitement.

Having a joyful expectation is a needed factor in our daily lives. God is capable of opening doors we can’t wrap our minds around.

Lately, One of my prayers is that God will teach me how to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. And live life with contentment.

Ain’t no super mom.
To get through the summer without losing my marbles, I intend to pause every so often. Pause to smile.
Pause to inhale and exhale. Pause to reconnect. Pause to read. Pause to answer deep-rooted questions. Pause for journaling.

Very easily, we ignore the present for an unknown future. Remember, tomorrow is not promised. Live life well today.

I wish you all a great summertime wherever you choose to spend it.

The New Strong.

Wisdom Is The New Strong.

A wise man is strong, yes, a man of knowledge increases strength. Proverbs 24:5

I used to think that being strong meant putting up with the drama, negativity, and abuse.
I felt I had to fight my way thru life to survive and I could tolerate whatever others threw at me..

I was wrong.

Faking strong made me resentful, bitter, judgmental, defensive, regretful, and disconnect from my true self.

The weak pretend they are strong by copying and following other people. A wise person will study and identify an area of weakness in self to improve on.

I’ve learned that sometimes it’s wise to avoid some battles, and instead of climbing a mountain, march around it.

And now.

Being strong means having the courage to stand alone, be my own person, not be easily provoked, suffer fools gladly, bridle my tongue, walk away, having self-respect, saying no without having to explain or defend my choices and maintaining peace and harmony within myself.

At this point in my life, I want to solve problems not create them. I want to mend bridges not set them on fire. I want to do life with those who are willing to put in the time and love. I am excited to explore and embrace this season of my life.

I chose to walk away from energy vampires, unsafe people, one-sided relationship, from hearts that rejoice in another’s downfall, eyes that see faults, and a mouth that speak foolishness.

It’s OK not to belong where you once fitted in. It’s OK to be the underdog, and not have to live up to other people’s expectations.

If walking away makes me a coward and weak. So be it. I couldn’t be happier with my peaceful and drama free life.

How are you evolving?

Lousy Days and 4 Ways to Overcome them.

I have many great and lousy days just like anybody else. Some days I want to stay in bed and be alone by myself. I miss that child in me who had no demands on her shoulders. I daydream about being a teenager again, sleeping late into the night and waking up at noon, clueless and full of youthful entitlements.

Thank God those days are far and between, and life demands and loving myself usually knock some sense back into me.

Adulting is unavoidable. Parenting is not for everyone. Marriage is not for the faint-hearted. Enjoy every season of your life; they go by so fast.

We mostly show our best face to the world. But we all know that no one is that happy all the time, right?

Whenever I’m having a horrible day, I don’t pretend that I’m full of the joy of the Lord. I don’t fight it; I let it be and ask what it’s here to teach me.

In the past, I would binge on unhealthy snacks, watch soul-crushing T.V shows to escape and not acknowledge my emotions. It only made things worse.

No one has control over life and awful days are a part of it. Work with what you have. It doesn’t matter who you are lousy days happen to all. Look within for answers.

4 Ways I get over Lousy days.

1. Daily Practice. Journaling helps me articulate my thoughts, clears my head and look inward.

Having a daily practice that works for you is like having a  built-in support system. Your daily practice is always there within reach when others are not. I hope you already have a healthy daily routine that can pull you through.

2. Self Love. Loving myself means having my own back and showing up for me. I can’t expect to do for others what I’m not willing to do for myself.

I hope you find enough strength and encouragement from within to love yourself deeply through any circumstances. Loving yourself through all season of life keeps you calm, content, peaceful and sane in a messy world.

3. Count Your Blessings. I know I’m fabulously blessed. Lousy days are the best time to remember my top 3 blessings: A sound mind, good health, and a loving family.

Lousy days happen to everyone. Don’t let it sneak up on you. I hope you know your top 3 things that money cannot buy. Be proactive and ready to disarm the enemy’s lies.

4. Community. I surround myself with people who are caring and safe to be around.

Your life is too precious to surround yourself with people who are critical and judgmental. Find two people who are willing to do life with you, invest time in you and are willing to accept you just as you are. They will listen to you, speak life into you and wrap you up in love. Do it for your mental health.

What I know today: Lousy days are life’s subtle invitation to stillness and acceptance.

Over to you: How frequently do you have lousy days and how do you handle them?

Call Off The Search

I got tired of spinning my mind yearly trying to reinvent and rediscover myself. How many versions of myself are there? I decided enough was enough. I called off the search and cling to the truth. I am complete and enough because Christ alone is sufficient for me.

Daily we are bombarded with information, data, and the latest gimmick, a constant reminder we are not good enough. No one can keep up, and there’s not enough time in one lifetime.

She realized that she is the mother, sister, and friend she had been searching for and simply became her true self. By loving, accepting, affirming herself through compassion, kindness, and by letting go of any judgments.

When we believe we are not good enough, we look to others to complete us. We search for our better half and soul mate in relationships. We hope to find solidarity in Sisterhood and Male bonding. We search for fulfillment by chasing significance in titles, education, religion, and fame. When all else fails, we blame everyone for not loving us enough, and for not doing right by us. We refuse to see how we’ve bought into a lie that we are not good enough, when in fact; everyone is on the same journey.

Who Lied To Us?
The lies we believed about ourselves have kept us caged longer than the lies told to us. What lies have you bought into about yourself? Adam, who said to you that you were naked? Eve, Did God say, ‘You must not eat of any tree in the garden?’ Elijah, what are you doing here, in fear of Jezebel?

We’ve all bought into lies that we are not good enough, pretty enough, smart enough, successful enough, or happy enough.

Identity Crisis.
At the rate the world is changing – no one can keep up. The world indirectly demands that we keep up. If we are not secure in our identity in Christ, we’ll get caught up in the whirlwind of comparison, competing, ultimately despising one’s life, trying to fix what wasn’t broken in the first place, and becoming who we are not.

Stop searching for yourself in others. You are complete in Christ and enough! The solutions the world offer is fleeting and very costly. The answers we seek are in Christ alone, free, and permanent. Jesus said to him, “Follow me.” Matthew 9:9, CEV.

Challenge The Lies.
Everything is not the truth. Challenge and debunk the lies. Write it out, put it against God’s word. You have the mind of Christ – use it. The Bible is our mirror; use it every day.

What If, they were wrong about you because you didn’t fit into their boxes? What if. They couldn’t see your greatness because that’s your responsibility. And what if you are a beautiful mess, rough around the edges, unique, and perfect in your imperfections?

You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. Psalm 16:11, ESV.

Now You Can live fully. Now you can let go of the lies. Now you can love and take care of yourself! You can do better because you know the truth.

Cling to the Truth.
What God says about you is the only truth worth clinging to and has the power to transform your life. Deep inside – you know the truth. Embrace who you have always known you could be.

You are not damaged. You are not your past. You are loved. You are treasured. You are not an accident. You were well thought out by God. And He knows you through and through. Christ delights in you and daily makes intercession for you.

I need more of God in every area of my life. I need Jesus with every waking breath I take. I’m not enough to run my life, raise my kids, and maintain a balanced home life, marriage and serve others. On my own, I’ve failed many times clinging to worthless idols. But with Christ, I’m capable and able to fulfill God’s purpose for my life. In Christ, I’ve found unfailing love, identity, self-worth, security, peace, and contentment.

You are enough. Call off the search. Take off the mask. Drop the dead weight. Cling to the truth. Love yourself and enjoy your life.

Giving Up Is Too Easy.

So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10, NIV.

Are you facing challenges after challenges? Are you having a bad week or a bad season? You just can’t catch a break! You may be thinking surely God has forsaken and forgotten about you. Your situation seems to be getting worse, not better. I am right there with you. I’ve had some tough seasons, still ongoing if I must confess, but I’ve chosen to see myself ahead in the future where pastures are greener and my cup is running over.

God has not forgotten about you. He knows your address, and your name is inscribed on the palms of His hands. This is not the time to give up. Praise Him like He’s done it and keep on seeking the Lord.

It’s too easy to give up! Anyone can do that. We are not called to do the easy stuff. Life is not a bed of roses, some paths are paved with thorns. It’s not just you, we all have to walk our own road.

Most of us don’t get what we want because we quit praying and give up too easily. Don’t give up too soon. Don’t quit praying, your miracle is too near for you to quit now.

“Life knocks us all back, don’t give up, get back up! Every day is a brand new canvas, go back to the drawing board!”

Anyone can quit! Giving up is too easy. The path to greatness requires courage one day at a time. God knows your name and address – help is on the way! Your faithfulness will not go unrewarded. Don’t give up hope!

When discouragement rears its ugly head, introduce endurance. They are both parts of life’s process. Don’t give up on your dreams.

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12, ESV.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Give me the discernment to know when an opportunity is of Your making and when it is not. You alone, Lord, can open doors that no man can shut. Help me to be still when I am desperate and tempted. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Gifts That Keep On Giving.

The older I get, the less interested I am in monetary gifts. Don’t get me wrong, I love having beautiful things, but they are no longer a top priority.

Over the years, I’ve felt conflicted with the commercialism of Christmas. If indeed it’s a celebration of Jesus birth, why focused mainly on exchanging gifts?

Exchanging gifts cannot be the only focus of Christmas; the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ must be the focus. Starting with my family, I’m gradually parting ways with old traditions. The minimalist in me searches for clutter-free gift-giving ideas that are thoughtful and purposeful.

A gift is an expression of love and appreciation. The cost shouldn’t be in monetary terms alone. Give thoughtful and purposeful gifts everyone can benefit from.

Here is a list of gifts I hope to give and will love to receive. They are gifts that keep on giving.

Encouragement – One of the easiest gift to give everyone around you: building each other up. Create a mutually encouraging community. Try it today, and you will reap the rewards.

Patience – We don’t have it all figured out, but with a little bit of patience we’ll get there. Someone needs your patience, be mindful and gentle with how you treat others.

Authenticity – Being around authentic people frees me to be more of who I truly am and vice versa. Imagine a community of genuine people? Let’s be real and more of who we truly are. Yes, we can!

Intimacy – With God and our spouse, with family and friends, makes a great marriage, relationships, and the world a better place for everyone to co-exist. We get back what we put in.

Kindness – Because life gets tough, nobody likes ugly and kindness is free and never hurt anyone. Start by being kinder to yourself and watch how this single gift alone changes your world.

Forgiveness – What better time to forgive and let go of the past. Meet someone halfway, extending an olive branch and spreading joy to the world. Forgiveness sets you free.

Courage – When I confront the obstacles in my life in small doses, I can offer support and encouragement to others when needed. You can’t give what you don’t have.

Honesty – We need truth spoken in love because we tend to see other’s fault and not our own. And until we remove the logs in our own eyes, we have no business pointing out the speck in another’s eye.

Anyone can buy you a gift, throw money at you, but only those who
truly care will invest time and take an interest in what matters to you.
Never take people’s time for granted
.

Self-Awareness – When I love and accept myself as I am without judgment, it trickles down to everyone around me, creating a needed synergy in our relationship.

Time – Granted, we can’t do life with everyone, let’s show up for those who have less than us: the orphans, homeless, those in prison, widows and less fortunate in our community. And make time for our loved one.

Better Communication – Lack of communication create negative vibes leaving rooms for assumptions, misunderstandings, and unresolved conflicts. Let’s do better.

Respect Other’s Boundaries – Respecting others boundaries is a sign of self-respect and how to maintain harmony in any relationship. Who doesn’t want that? Not me!

Vulnerability – Setting aside the mask we hide behind can simply save lives and connect us on a soul level. Not so easy to do because we are afraid of being judged and criticized. Vulnerability is courage in disguise, not weakness.

Self-Love – Give this one gift to yourself because your body, soul, and spirit depend on it. We were taught to always to love others, not how to love ourselves. Love yourself while loving others. Loving yourself will help guide you on how to love others well. It’s a win, win for all.

The best gifts are well thought-out from the heart, given freely without expectation.

Thank you for taking the time to read. May your gifts to yourself and others be fruitful and multiply.

Chain Letters and Junk Messages. Is Sharing Really Caring?

Is Sharing Really Caring?
We live in a world of information overload. We like, share, comment, retweet and unfollow, mute and block stuff we don’t like. Sometimes it gets really too much for some of us. I get overwhelmed by negative news and debates, unwanted text messages, junk mails, spam and too much exposure to social media. I crave solitude and regularly take breaks to detach from the hustle and bustle of a fast-changing world.

Chain letters and junk messages are one of my pet peeves. I can’t seem to get away from them no matter how much I try. I’ve unsubscribed from many online resources, blogs, and business organizations due to unnecessary junk mails. I don’t want to waste any precious time deleting chain letters, junk emails and text messages. It’s easier to just block repeat offenders who refuse to respect my boundary, and yes even family.

What are Spam and Junk mail?
Unsolicited, unwanted and forwarded emails, chain prayers and text messages. Bulk Ads campaigns and emails from an unknown sender and unsubscribed mailing list.

Junk comes in different forms and we can all agree that they are not serving any positive purpose in our lives. All junks are excess and a waste of everyone’s time and energy.

Let’s talk about Chain letters and Junk messages from people we know: our friends and family!

Chain Letters are junk. Period. They are manipulative and insert fear in people. Telling a friend if they break the chain they are not a good friend is nonsense.

Waking up to text messages titled WARNING!!!! WARNING!!! WARNING!!! is fear mongering and unacceptable.

Anyone who sends a chain letter full of ill wishes and threat such as these “If you break the chain you will have bad luck for the rest of your life” is not a caring friend.

Why would someone send me 5 pages of prayer in tiny fonts?🙈😂🙊😂 Surely, that can’t be from God! Lol! What have I done to deserve such, ahem, blessing?

Think Before You Click Send. Ask yourself these questions before clicking the send button. What is my intention? What is the message? What is the lesson? What emotion am I invoking? Is it absolutely necessary? Does it reflect my values and is this the best contribution I want to put out to the world?

Self-Awareness.  Pay attention to your relationships. Is the communication one-way? Take a hint!

Don’t Abuse Your Access. A relationship is a blessing, don’t be a nuisance. Don’t abuse your access, use them with caution, use only when necessary and with wisdom.

Less Is More. If you really must share, keep it short and sweet. No one has time to read pages of emails and text messages.

Share Responsibly. If sharing is caring, share something worthwhile and useful. Share something original. Share your life, passion and common interest. Share something positive and uplifting. Stop forwarding and promoting hoaxes, salacious, hurtful,  depressing gossips, unverified fake news.

In a healthy relationship, you know each other’s like and dislike, respect other’s boundaries and don’t send junk, annoying messages.

The truth is we are all complicit. We have all contributed to junk messages. The question is what part are you going to play moving forward? How have you dealt with junk messages from friends and family?

A Note Of Appreciation
To all my readers: I love corresponding with anyone who has genuine questions and needs. I value your privacy and would never share your email addresses with a third-party or spam you. I feel so blessed that we’ve been able to create a community based on mutual love and respect. I can honestly say that no one in our community spam or bombard me with junk. Bravo!

Living Within Your Limits.

I wanted to have five children, initially, yes 5! Why? I was clueless and living in Lala land. Once we had our 3rd, I realized my limit. Fast forward, with two children in Elementary School and a middle schooler, I get three sets of school media information daily! It’s a struggle staying on top of emails and making sure vital pieces of information are not lost with the junk. Then add homework, project deadline, extracurricular activities, birthday parties, cooking, cleaning, and laundry. Saying No to things became easy. This Mom is trying to have a life too. That’s why I can’t handle other people’s drama because I have enough of my own. Plain and simple.

As someone who used to love working under pressure, multi-tasking, even I have my limits. Life can be whatever we make it. It doesn’t have to be hard. Have we made it harder for ourselves to feel important?

Limits or limitations connotes negative vibes such as having to make do with less or without. Are we losing out or is our reality distorted?

Know Your Limits.
To know your limits, you’ll need to take an honest inventory of your life. Knowing your season helps define your limits: what you can and cannot do. Having a better understanding of your limit decides your commitment and priority.

Knowing my limits drive me to my knees, to pray and intercede for the need of others. Praying for others is the least we can do. No excuse. Everyone can pray.

Self-Awareness.
As we become more self-aware, our true-self emerges; we can show up for ourselves and others by learning to operate within the confines of our limitations while respecting others.

Living within limits is key to achieving balance in life. As you realize your limits, you’ll start living a purposeful life. When you know your limits, you can live a well-balanced life.

“When you say ‘Yes’ to others, make sure you are not saying ‘No’ to yourself.” ― Paulo Coelho

Life is too short to waste time on minor issues. Somethings are beyond your power and control. Hand it over to God.

Knowing My Limits

Limits Are Real.
Limitations are real and show up differently for each person. Limits are not all bad; it brings clarity and order to life. It helps to speed up decision-making. Whoever fights their reality will lose.

We must work the works of him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. John 9:4, ESV.

Our time on earth is limited, and the days are short. There are 24 hours in a day. The sun does not shine all day neither does the moonshine all night. If you go against the order of God, you might die before your time.

Our limitations do not limit us. We are limited in our thought, fear, belief, culture, and traditions. Within the scope of our limitations, there is room to live a limitless life.

The body is not meant to endure long-term stress: You cannot survive without sleep and water. The earth was here before you and will be here after you are gone. Know your limits, respect the laws of God and nature, and love your neighbor as you love yourself.

Embrace Your Limits.
Instead of resisting, surrender, and embrace your limitations for therein lies your uniqueness, strengths, and advantages. Embracing limits enable us to live without guilt or shame and free to be our true self.

Helen Keller, at 19 months old, contracted an illness, which left her both deaf and blind. She learned how to live with her limiting disabilities.

She was the first deaf and blind person to earn a Bachelor of Arts degree. She was proficient in using Braille and sign language. She advocated for people with disabilities and women right to vote and access to birth control. She learned how to speak and became a world-famous speaker, an activist, and author. She did it her way!

When you reach your limit and have done all you know to do: Surrender.

Some of you say, “We can do whatever we want to!” But I tell you that not everything may be good or helpful. 1 Corinthians 10:23 CEV.

“You can do anything, but not everything.” ― David Allen

When the life you once had is over, you have the opportunity to embrace the new one with optimism. God can create a unique experience out of the broken ruins of your old life.

Have you bitten more than you can swallow? Don’t carry more than you can handle. Leave the heavy load to God. You are not JESUS!

You can’t pray away every problem. You can accept it, live with it, or learn to love it.

What if your limitations are blessings in disguise?

Be Alert and Fully Awake.

Beloved, be alert and fully awake! Don’t allow the systems of this world to rock you to sleep. Don’t get sucked into the bubbles of religious activities, working and paying the bills. Focus on a personal relationship with God and know his voice for yourself. Discover why you were created-your true calling, owe no man anything except love and live below your means. The pursuit of happiness and busyness of life has taken many captives on the rollercoaster of never having enough! Wake up from your slumber!

Be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
1 Peter 5:8, GNT.

Be Alert and Fully Awake.

What I Know Today: The enemy of our souls will NEVER ever relent or give in until the day of Jesus Christ. The devil is not some big bad wolf, he is evil incarnate, evil personified. He’s not playing hide and seeks. He means business and he has had decades perfecting his skills. Don’t be ignorant of his devices.

The devil wants us busy working for money, chasing the next big thing but never to discover our identity, dream, vision, purpose and spiritual gift. Be alert and fully awake!

We are in the fight of our lives, we are a target because we are marked by the blood of Jesus Christ. We do not belong to the devil and this world for we are Christ. And you belong to Christ, and Christ belongs to God.
1 Corinthians 3:23, NCV.

You Are So Much More.

I hope you already know this: You are so much more than what you or others can see or touch. You are so much more than what you’ve known or done. You are so much more than what others think or even how your perceptions frame your self-image. You could never be accurately measured by what you own or lack. You are more than the span of your years and therefore cannot be tethered to the adages of young or old. You are a child of the eternal realm. You are more than single, divorced, widowed or married. You are far more than your gender. ― Lisa Bevere. #Adamant on page 35.

You are so much more

An excerpt from my current read: Adamant, by Lisa Bevere.  A love note-to-self and a reminder worth sharing with friends. Post somewhere accessible for those days when doubt creeps in. I hope you already know this about yourself and I pray this post serves as a gentle whisper and a reminder of your significance.

If Not Now Then When?

There are no limits, only uncertainties. Waiting for certainty is certainly a waste of time. If not now then when? Don’t put off what you can do today until tomorrow. Tomorrow may never come, seize the day! Regardless of the outcome, all you can do is your best by playing your part. Better to try and fail than to never give it a shot!

Do ONE thing today that will take you closer to fulfilling your God-ordained purpose. Don’t worry about tomorrow and what others are doing. By doing your very best daily, God will increase your efforts. There is never a good time to disobey God. When you obey God, He will take care of your “IFs, BUTs and HOWs!”

How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog–it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. James 4:14, NLT.

If not now then when?

If you don’t go after what you want, you’ll never have it. If you don’t ask, the answer is always no. If you don’t step forward, you’re always in the same place.” — Nora Roberts

IF NOT YOU THEN WHO? There are many negative voices trying to talk you out of your destiny. Be the ONE to talk yourself into your destiny by encouraging yourself in the Lord.

What I know today: If the vision for your life doesn’t drive you to your knees; it’s just a good idea.

Be Quick To Learn and Slow To Judge.

At every season in life, God will use the people you spend the most time with to teach you lessons. Be quick to learn and slow to judge.

Wise are those who restrain their talking; people with understanding are cool-headed. Proverbs: 17:27, CBE.

What people do, say and how they treat us gives us plenty of opportunities to judge them. Just trying to make it through a day without being the judge and jury is challenging.

In my ignorance, I have burned many bridges and highways by being too quick to judge and a very slow learner. Thanks be to God who never gave up on moi. I’m teachable: Still learning and growing. Always.

Be quick to learn and slow to judge.

Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger. James: 1:19, ESV.

Everyone you come in contact with has been placed there by God to teach and mold you. Why else do you think they are in your life? Ahhhhhh! Get it?

What I know today: When we are quick to learn and slow to judge, we become wiser with fewer regrets in life.

Let’s be quick to learn and slow to judge.

Lesson learned: There Are No Shortcuts In Life.

There are no shortcuts in life. Anytime I thought I’d found one: I’ve gone twice the distance and paid thrice the price. Lesson learned!

If only I’d gotten this lesson down earlier in life! Never too late though. That was the story of my life. Maybe you can relate too. Taking shortcuts: lying, keeping up with the Joneses,  procrastination, cheating, wrong relationship, plagiarism, sabotaging, withholding information and fraud, just to name a few.  Avoid these pitfalls and seek God for your identity in Christ Jesus.

A shortcut is the longest route to nowhere.

Lesson learned: There Are No Shortcuts In Life.

What’s The Rush?

Stop looking for shortcuts and quick fixes. Do the work & acquire the right set of skills to help you become A Master in your chosen field! You can do it!

There are many temptations on the path to fulfilling your destiny. Avoid shortcuts and loopholes, get rich quick schemes and scams. They will only lead to regret and misery. If it sounds too good to be true: Run for your life!

“He that hastens to be rich has an evil eye and does not consider that poverty shall come upon him.” (Proverbs 28:22)

A shortcut is the path that seems right but only lead to disappointment,  lawlessness, disorderliness and painful regrets. Seek truth and love which will take you to greatness and honor. Discover your purpose in life by doing what you love, making a difference and getting paid for it.

Taking shortcuts is a clear sign of ignorance, unbelief in God and lack of faith in one’s abilities. It robs you of any credibility and makes you an easy target for criminals.

What I know today: Sweat equity creates value. Do not get weary in the pursuit of your passion. Be diligent, pour your heart and soul into your work. Bless the world with your gift and God will enlarge and multiply your efforts.
