Marriage – The Voice Of GOD From Within By Joshua Caleb

Marriage – What is it? Who ordained it?

Marriage is more than two people joining together to say “I Do”

Marriage involves more than romance, sex, any physical pleasure, or even companionship.

There are billions of people on this earth, yet we choose that one person to spend the rest of our lives with. Or, was the person chosen for us?

Marriage is the voice of a being speaking from within you saying…

“I desire you to be a witness to this life as it unfolds
I desire you to be a guardian to this life as it unfolds
I desire to depend on you and to count on you that you’ll be my witness to this life.
For all things great and for all things not so great, I desire you to be a witness and a guide to this life. When this life is great, I desire you to witness it, so you can cheer it on and share in it, and when this life is not so great, to encourage it to be better.”

A commitment, that’s what marriage is. To witness each other’s life as it unfolds.

How can we then accomplish this God-given assignment?

This job, this position of honor, can only be filled through “true commitment” and true commitment comes from deep within the heart.

It takes God’s love to commit; it takes true unwavering love of God to truly commit.

Aaah! Marriage is not romance, it is more than that, it is true love that lies deeply within the heart.

It is true love that gently speaks from deep within the heart.

True marriage is pure love and pure love can only be found in God.

Marriage is God, the one with the small still voice that says…….

“Will you be a witness to this life as it unfolds? Will you be a guide to this life on this journey? I will help you along the way; I will never leave you nor forsake you. I will be your strength and I will be with you even unto the end of time.”

YES, Marriage is GOD gently speaking from deep within the heart.

  1. Thank you for your contribution to the blog and personally to my life. You have been a great mentor and a constant reminder to always “listen to the voice of the MASTER”.

Who better can teach or speak on this topic other than you? With Over 20 years of marital bliss, thank you for your guidance and advice.

    • I should be saying “Thanks” to you Buky. In many ways, you have also contributed to my life. You have been a great listener and I have learnt many things through our sharing of God’s wonderful revelations. I am truly honored and humbled by your allowing me to guest post here. You are awesome.

  2. Joshua, thank you for writing and allowing Bukville to share this with us.

Flesh and blood have not revealed this to you but GOD Himself.

  3. Well written and eye opening. A must read for single and married
    “marriage is not romance”.

  4. Thanks Omoyele. If only we can all stop confusing “romance” with marriage. Romance has its place in marriage, but it is not the begining and the ending of marriage, it is just a small part of it. It is about partnership and watching each other blossom in the plan of God for each of us. May God give us wisdom.Beautiful comment.

    • Hello Tolulope:

Thank you for reading and posting your comment. All glory belong to God.

We all need this at all times. None of us can say I have arrived when it comes to marriage, but God is watching us, not to condemn us but to lend a helping hand and give us wisdom as needed in every step of our married life. He never said it’s going to be easy, come on, we are taking responsibility for each other in marriage, wow! God MUST have trusted us and found us worthy and knew that we have the strength and what it takes to successfully navigate through the swamps of marriage and make it work. Now, doing that takes ONLY the love of God to successfully achieve; and doing that brings so much exponetial reward from God that you won’t believe.

Yes, “True marriage is pure love and pure love can only be found in God”

  6. Thank you so much for sharing this much needed and wonderful piece.

    • Dear Shadealma:

Thank you for taking the time to read the post and writing your comment.

For a person to truly love another, one MUST love God first. If we have the true love of God shed abroad in our hearts, oh, how easy it will be to love ourselves, our spouses and others unconditionally.

We all need this as some are not finding marriage to be a bed of roses.

It takes work, understanding, knowledge, the wisdom of God from both sides and the realization that marriage is not of this world but ordained by God HIMSELF. Marriage is a responsibility that God entrusted to each person to participate in the unfolding of another person’s life. It’s our choice to see it to the end or quit along the way, and as I have learnt both in the kingdom and even in this world, quitters never win and fortunately winners never quit.

  7. Hello Maidofheart:

Deep love been that of God and commitment only through God’s enabling power. May God give us the knowledge, wisdom and perfect understanding that is required to make a marriage successful. All glory belong to God who has chosen to reveal things to us, HIS children.

Once again, thank you very much and stay blessed

  8. In summary, marriage is deep love and commitment. Both needing understanding of the true meaning of marriage and strength of character to sustain. Thank you, Joshua for this insightful piece.

    • Hello Ayo:

If there are men and women who still believe in marriage, the “Old Fashioned” way :-) , you and I both know that the whole world will be a better place to live. A place full of true love and commitiment, which translates to God’s presence and according to the scripture, in HIS presence there’s joy. I am glad you subscribe to it..

I appreciate and thank you for taking the time to read and comment.

Just like everything else that God as created, God is glorified, praised and is clearly seen in all that He creates.
