Embrace your season, for there you will find the grace for today.
I am thankful for every day, but I’m partial to Saturday. It’s like my morning off, I get to stay in bed while my husband is in charge. Dad’s homemade pancakes are the highlight of our week. Our children are learning that marriage is a teamwork. They have the front role seats in our marriage and they are most likely to replicate what they see in our home.
It hasn’t always been this way: for the first 7 years of our married life, my husband’s job took him all over the world. I’m talking Africa, North America, Europe, India, and Russia. Those days were tough on us as a family, the children were younger and we had never been down that path before. We were apart for weeks and sometimes a whole month. We sailed through because we had God’s grace for that season and the same vision for our family. We never lost sight of each other and extending grace to one another along the way. Although apart, we both knew we were contributing and committed to our vision from afar.
And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest on me. 2 Corinthians 12:9, AKJB.
Taking it one day at a time is how we are meant to navigate this life. You have all the strength, wisdom, inspiration and perseverance for today. No matter what you are going through and the giant in your path, if you focus on now, you can handle it. There is a saying “How do you eat an elephant: One bite at a time.
God has made available to you a portion of grace just for today. Use it. Through grace, you will find contentment. Grace keeps us humble by daily learning to trust in God for everything and never leaning on our understanding.
God has given us the grace for each day. We are not promised tomorrow, only today. His grace is sufficient for today only. Stop investing your hopes and dreams in an uncertain future. God never promised you tomorrow only today.
Surrender, relinquish control to God – start afresh today!
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with all of you. 2 Corinthians 13:14, NIV.
