Many people have set lofty goals this year they will not attempt or achieve. Start small. Keep it simple and realistic. Small wins are better than nothing.
There is power in small wins and little achievements. They are a set-up for bigger dreams, goals, and for gathering momentum.
Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life. Proverbs 13:12, ESV.
Are lofty goals bad? No. Any goal which cannot be broken down into achievable bite-size steps followed by a plan and course of action would eventually backfire.
Small wins produce hope which fuel enthusiasm to run with your God-given vision.
