What Is Your Happy Place?
Your happy place can be a person, thing, place, or event. It’s where you come alive, inspired, a safe haven to retreat and find solace.
You are not designed to flourish in every terrain.
When you find your happy place, you will find your people.
Praying is my happy place.
Prayer is a place of intimacy with God. It takes being uncomfortable to be comforted by God. When my dear friend, Lisa, came over and asked if we could pray together? Joy, unspeakable joy! I enjoy praying alone, with my family and others. Doing what makes me happy with others makes my life and relationships richer and stronger.
When you find your happy place, you will find your people.
Serving Others.
Through serving others, I’ve discovered my spiritual gifts and my happy place. From ushering, to prayer partner, leading a group, working in the children ministry and much more have led to making new friends. Lisa is my people! And how did I meet Lisa? When I joined my church’s prayer team! Seriously, you can’t make this up!
Doing Life Together.
With my husband and children. Need I say more? We have weathered many storms together. It’s an honor to share our journey and the cares of this world together. Kissing and hugging my children and Hubby is my happy place. I can’t get enough of them. Doing life together joyfully with my husband and children is my happy place. They are my people!
Solitude.
My favorite thing to do is spend time alone with no agenda. Connecting my spirit with God is a daily must for me. Spending time with God is my happy place. Tuning out all the noise and chaos of this world is my lifeline. I love it and I can’t get enough of it.
Encouraging others is my happy place.
Whether it’s sharing the good news through encouraging posts, quotes or chatting to a total stranger, or being a shoulder for others is my happy place. I’ve made life-long friendships, acquire new skills, and discovered my calling. I enjoy connecting with new friends on FB, Twitter & Instagram.
When you find your happy place, you will find your people.
I met my friend, Bomi, about 7 years ago through blogging. True story: I reached out to her after months of stalking her blog, Jollynotes. I sent her an email telling her how much I’ve admired her blogging ministry and how much she had been a blessing to me. She replied with open hands and an open heart. We’ve been friends ever since. She is a breath of fresh air, an awesome encourager, and always positive. Everyone needs a friend like Bomi: She is my people.
Praise and Worship
I can’t carry a tune to save my life. But I love to dance and worship My King, My Lord, and Savior. It is the one place where I don’t hold back my tears. With hands raised up and heart-pounding to the rhythm of Heaven – I feel His presence. Our home is filled with worship songs. We are a family of worshipers.
Reading.
Give me a book anytime and day, and I’m happy! Bible, Christian books, Leadership, Financial, and Biographies. I just finished reading Five Little Questions That Reveal the Life God Designed for You – Dannah Gresh.
Showing Kindness to Strangers.
Shopping for groceries is not that exciting. One of my favorite things to do at the store is letting others go before me in the queue. My cart is usually full of shopping for a family of 5, and letting those with less go ahead makes my day! Random Acts of Kindness is my happy place and shopping has a new meaning!
Spontaneous get-together.
I love it when we get together with our families or friends for no specific reason. It’s an awesome time for parents to catch up and safe for children to run around crazy! Catching up with friends is my happy place.
A Relationship with Christ.
Seeking a deeper relationship with Christ is absolutely my Top happy place. Each time I think I know Christ a little, I find I don’t! This relationship keeps me alert and alive and leaves no room for complacency. I am forever growing; in and out of transitions and seasons. I am forever changed and learning more in my walk with Him
The wrong place and bad association can suffocate your gift and steal your joy.
Find your happy place and thrive.
I hope by sharing my happy places, you are inspired to discover yours. You are not designed to flourish in every terrain. When you find your happy place, you will find your people.
What is that place for you? Have you discovered your happy place?
